For a match made in heaven
You know, a special heavenly kind of love

Someone who gets me and understands
Someone to share life with
Who is ready to make long lasting plans

Someone who is unique just like me
Someone who is caring and thoughtful
and with a heart that truly loves me

Someone not afraid to grow
Someone to share life’s experiences with
Who doesn’t need to ask how I feel… just knows

Someone to cuddle with and laugh
Someone who likes to play and share a bath 😉

Someone who doesn’t wish to hurt or cause any pain

Learning How to Say NO

This has always been a personal struggle of mine. I always worry about hurting someone’s feelings, so I end up being overly nice and accommodating to those that just want nothing more than to use and or abuse. This year I have finally figured out that it’s ok to say no to these types of people. It’s not me being purposely hurtful to them by denying them what they want.. it’s me standing up for myself and saying no to their behaviors. It’s me saying that it’s not okay for you to do things that hurt me. It’s very empowering to take back that part of your life and let go of that kind of fear.

The Picture We Paint Ourselves

We all do this… we paint a picture of how we think our lives should be, what it should look like, who is in it and how they look and behave. Think about that image you have painted and ask yourself where does that come from. How much of what is in that picture is you and how much of it comes from other sources like environment, family, friends, media even. Be careful not to push away people because they don’t match the painting in your head… don’t pull away from opportunities because they aren’t in your painting. Stop looking at that painting and start living.

I am having one of those moments….

You know that moment when you want to write something deep and profound that will move others… to relay how you feel inside and there are just so many words that come to you that you can’t seem to get them in the right order???

I am having one of those moments….

I sit here taking a look back into my memory banks and browse upon all the most memorable moments of my life. I see all the good times and all the bad. I look over them carefully and pause for reflection. I search through my feelings about these moments and I realize quickly that the MOST important moments were the ones filled with love. All of the bad moments, important as well but for different reasons. The bad moments in life were times of growth and lessons to be learned. Those moments showed me the strength inside, they showed me how I have abilities greater than I thought possible. I am grateful for those moments but the moments that fill me with light are the moments that were made with love.

The moments in life where love is present are indeed for me the MOST important. The moments I want to reflect on most. Those are the moments when our spirit soar with the greatest power. When love is in our hearts, we become unstoppable, there are no mountains too tall to climb, no rivers too rapid to cross, no oceans to vast to overcome and no obstacle that is too difficult to stand in our way. When you meet someone who is filled with love you can’t help but feel it, absorb some of it yourself and then pass it on to others. Love is truly limitless. It fuels the light within us to levels unimaginable but definitely attainable. The more you are filled with love the more you feel capable of doing and becoming. The light within grows brighter and brighter with every moment that you are filled with love.

Think about the moments in your life that are the most memorable. You will find the bad days and the strength that they unveiled and you will see the growth that those days created. You will then move on to the good days and how much love was felt on those days. You will see that those were days where moments were laced together with true love. Those were the days where your smile was the brightest, your heart filled to the brim and nothing could possibly get in your way of experiencing what we all wish to attain… HAPPINESS in it’s purest form. LOVE.

Today, I am filled with endless LOVE!

Personal Growth & Memorable Moments

I began to look at all the memorable moments of my life. I started thinking about all of my relationships and how I always made everyone else a priority. If I wasn’t going to put myself first why would anyone else. I began to think about my life now while I am not in a relationship and why I felt the need to search for someone else to focus on. I looked inside and found that I am truly happy as I am right now and I don’t “need” someone else in my life to be happy.. I am happy. Sharing a life with someone else who is happy would be great but not something that I “NEED”. THIS is a memorable moment!

Knowing the Difference

A man of his word is not the same as a man of words. A man of words has all the right things to say and says them well and at all the right times but I am sad to tell you that words is all that you’ll ever truly get for that man. A man of his word is often silent, his words fewer than the previous… but what makes this man great is that his actions follow his words. He doesn’t say things just to be saying them. What he says, he means and he follows up with great intent and purpose.

In my younger days I confused the two. I thought surely that a man with so many words would mean what he says. I thought that all of these words meant that he put great thought into what he wants when in reality he was just talking to hear his own brain rattle.

Dancing in the Rain – Relationships  – Relationships work when you focus on what’s important… Fill your life with love and compassion for each other instead of THINGS for each other. The truest test of love is sticking with someone when times are hard, loving someone when they are at their worst. It’s easy to stand by someone when times are easy… staying when it gets bad is what counts the most. Live, Laugh, Love and build those things together and forget what what society “thinks” is important. A life worth living is not forged with monetary gifts but with gifts from each others heart and soul. Remember these things and build a life on LOVE.

Changing Behaviors and Patterns

In the past, I allowed people to lie to me. Knowing their words were lies I accepted this in my life. I wanted to give each person the benefit of doubt, I looked past the little lies and thought more about why they lied. Was it that they were scared, had low self esteem, or maybe they felt less than for some reason and felt they needed the lie. Whatever the reason, it wasn’t needed. My thoughts, “Maybe one day they will not feel the need to lie to me anymore”. That never seems to work out that way, The truth may be hard but it doesn’t break trust. Without trust, you have NOTHING. This video is me breaking my own patters and behaviors of allowing things in my life that aren’t good for me. I’m watching out for myself way more these days and taking a lot less crap. I deserve better. If better never shows up, well at least I’m not living in a world of lies.

Easy Words – Hard to Follow

When you find it hard to follow your own advice. Many times over I have given the advice to others to live their life in a way that makes them happy…. only I have not followed my own advice. I spent my years making others happy … putting my own happiness to the side. As a friend, daughter, wife, mother… I thought that is what I was suppose to do. Times are changing. It’s time to start living for me.

All it Takes is Effort

A kind word, a smile, loving gesture or a little consideration can go a very long way. Please remember that… in all that you do. For any kind of relationship this is extremely important. Whether it’s be a friendship, family or a romantic  partner/spouse… you need to make sure that you have put forth some effort. Little actions, speak volumes and whether you think it is important or not .. it is!

Most relationships have one person that tends to be the giver and the other the receiver… if you are the receiver in the relationship it is ever so important that you not forget the giver and that although the giver may not “seem” like they NEED anything done for them, given to them, etc…  they in fact DO NEED some effort from you. They need to also feel loved, admired, needed, wanted, appreciated or just cared for in general. As the receiver you will never know the true efforts of the giver each day. You will never fully understand how much thought and preparation goes into everything that the giver says and does for you. Effort in return is all that’s needed. That’s all …. just some type of effort to let them know you care.

People come into our lives and we like to keep them there for whatever reasons…. we WANT them in our lives versus NEEDING them in our lives. Life may not be the same without them .. but it will go on. We will adapt and life will change but it always goes on. If you want to be in someone’s life make sure that you are also wanted because needs change.
