Every day I begin my mornings with camera in hand, on the hunt for something to photograph. I know there is beauty to be found… so I search. I always seem to find something. It may not be as grand as the sunrise and a sky full of colors, but it is beauty in it’s raw, natural form. From the spider’s web to a buzzing bee to the dew on a dandelion or the bark of an old tree… there is beauty all around us that goes completely without notice by most. Take some time each day to see the beauty that surrounds you… give thanks to the Earth for the gift and enjoy life and all of it’s precious moments.

Some people spend their entire lives wishing for magic to happen. Whether it be their knight riding in on a white horse to rescue them from their mundane life or being followed by a magical trail of glitter and sparkles where ever they go, they keep wishing for magic. What they fail to see is the magic that is already there. Yep, right their in their lives every single day. We all have it! Magic isn’t something only a select few get to experience. Magic lives in the lives of all of us if we wish to see it.
Here’s some everyday magic you may have not noticed:

A compliment for no reason at all
Finding something that was once lost
A cuddle from someone you love
A kiss
A kind gesture
Finding a penny (face up)

Spreading positivity
You see these may not seem very magical, but they are. These are just a few of the simple things in everyday life that make us feel good. Imagine for a moment a life without all of these things. Yeah, not so nice huh? Drab and sad to say the least.
Magic isn’t about fairy tales and sparkle, it’s not about a bunch of hocus pocus and making things appear with a twitch of your nose. Magic is about appreciating all parts of life and walking your path with love.
Magic is noticing those things that are mostly unseen, finding an appreciation for all life here on Earth, and harnessing the happiness life offers us.
Most important … Magic is love. Plain and simple .. LOVE. Love yourself, love others, love living. LOVE.

Today is Friday the 13th and a Full Moon!
You will hear most everyone today talking about their fears and how they dread Friday the 13th … add the Full Moon on top of it and people go frantic! I’ll just stand to the side and shake my head. What is there to fear? Do any of them have a legitimate reason to be afraid of the number 13? How about the moon? Do they really have reason to fear the moon?
Let start with the moon… particularly the full moon because that is the moon most feared. What does the Full Moon actually do? Well from where I stood on my deck last night, it provided a glowing light in what could have been a very dark place. We will leave out the magical parts because “most” don’t understand that anyway… they are just afraid of a large mass in the night sky that is turned in such a way that it reflects the most sunlight it possibly can on it’s surface for the month. Yep… real scary! Run for your lives!
Now lets look at the number 13. There are a lot of stories from olden times that contribute to the superstitions but that was the past. It already happened and for whoever it effected back then.. yep that was pretty unlucky but the number itself wasn’t the cause of the bad luck.. the cause was created by the people who committed the violent acts.
Number 13 = made from the number 1 which is a symbol of new beginnings and the number 3 which symbolizes creativity, communication, compassion and manifestation. Wow when you break it down, the number 13 looks pretty darn amazing!
So tell me now…. what is there to fear?
Here’s a bit magic I found today, on Friday the 13th with the full moon overhead:
I’ve been outside singing to the fairies this morning hunting four leaf clovers and taking photos in the rain… Most will just want to stay inside when it rains, saying how yucky it is … but me… I think the rain is beautiful! I found 16 four leaf clovers this morning and captured some beautiful pictures with my camera. Have a look at the rain that everyone else avoided. (click on the gallery for best viewing)

I just love this time of year when the thistle are in bloom. Sprouts of purple can be found along side most roads throughout the South. Purple, being my favorite color anyway… there is no wonder I love it so much. Also it is my birth flower, the November flower :-). More reasons to like it, as if I needed any other reason.. it’s a flower – it’s purple and it’s my birth flower. Love, Love Love!

An herb of protection and vitality.
A bowlful placed in a room strengthens the spirits and renews vitality.
One may be carried for added strength and energy.
They offer protection when grown in the garden or carried in the pocket.
Throwing them into a fire will deflect lightning away from your home.
It is said that when a man carries a thistle he becomes a better lover.(Ooooooooooooooooo) lol.
A method of calling spirits is to boil some thistle.
It was once believed to cure the plague.
Thistle is also known to remove negative energies and hexes as well as bringing one uplifting energy and luck.
It strengthens the memory, helps with depression, and is useful in migraine headache.
Combine it with peppermint, elder flowers, and ginger for colds, fevers, and backache.

I stepped outside the office for a little break, of course with camera in hand as always. You never know when a photo opportunity will reveal itself! It’s warm out but there is a soft breeze out that is sooooo refreshing. I stood there for a moment, taking in the fresh air. The light scent of honeysuckle carried over from the field across the road, filled the air as it swept past me.
I walked over to the retaining wall at the side of the building, looking at the clover and clover flowers. I was hoping to spot a nice big bumble bee or a butterfly to photograph, but no such luck. There was a dandelion that was slowly fading away and some clover flower, so not wasting a moment I got my camera ready to capture their beauty. I moved around the side of the building to see what else I could see and there was my buddy the bumble bee… after capturing a couple of clicks I looked next to me and saw my friend the ladybug so I stepped back just a bit to get her in focus and started clicking away before she flew off.
I went back inside and got back to work, when I had a moment free I loaded the photos onto my computer from the card and as I was cropping the photos of the ladybug I noticed something in one of the photos. It was this tiny little bubble of dew hanging from a small blade of grass. I had completely missed it when I was outside. It was right there just inches away from the ladybug but I was focused so intently on the ladybug I missed this magical little bubble that was right there in front of me the whole time.
You know life is often just like this moment. When we focus so intently in one direction, we miss what is just in front of us.

Magical Properties of Dogwood: Wishes, secrets, loyalty and protection. The fire of passion, desire and will. Associated with fertility and sexual attraction, happiness and comfort.
Dogwood is sacred to the Elves at Beltane, this tree bears the magic of flowering, evocation of one’s ancestors, renewal of cycles of fertility, consecration of ritual or hearth fires, giving of comfort or healing and spells of banishment and protection.
Dogwood is useful in any meeting when those attending need to maintain confidence regarding the topics of discussion, and to help keep open minds. Dogwood may be used to keep ones writings private. It is a superior herb to guard ones diaries, or journals. Oil of Dogwood flowers is without peer in sealing letters and keeping the contents only for intended eyes. Use the powdered flowers or bark as incense for your sacred space.
Place the sap of the dogwood onto a handkerchief on Midsummer Eve. This will grant any wish you have as long as you carry it faithfully. Dogwood leaves or wood can be placed in protective amulets.

Halloween Night 2013
Last night I danced beneath the Samhain Moon. It wasn’t quite what one might think a dance beneath the Samhain moon might be. There were no spooky spirits flying about, no black cats and scary bats, no goblins, no ghosts. There were no mystical chants, no candles burning bright … just me dancing beneath the moon light. Let me explain a little more about my Samhain night….
There I was standing beneath the crescent moon in a misty fog when I was taken by the hand and guided down a path. I wondered where I was being guided and why but I did not hesitate and I did not fear the journey ahead of me. I felt safe and secure, so I took the strangers hand and I put one foot in front of another and I walked slowly and calmly down this path. I wasn’t sure where I was or where I was going but something inside me knew this was a path I must take. Suddenly the stranger stops and turns to me, looks me in the eyes and with a mutual understanding we began to dance. No words were ever spoken. We danced and danced, twirled and swayed to music that wasn’t even there. The scene was all dressed in shades of gray with a reflective lake just to the right of the path and the crescent moon directly above. There was a low lying mist of mystery that danced along with us as the night passed. I kept wondering what this was and what it all meant. There was such a feeling of calm and peace that surrounded us and filled my entire being. I could not have been more at ease than I was this night.
So who was this stranger in the night?
To my surprise I found that it was none other than LOVE itself. What a great feeling this was. I was granted the most magical night of all. To dance with love through the night, ending with a sweet embrace of knowing that Love is always with me. It is the seed that is my beginning and that has grown as I have grown through the years and that shall continue with me when my Earthly days are gone and together we return to the light.
UPDATE – October 2015
I guess what I should add to this story … now that it is 2 years later and makes it all the more magical… At the time of this vision, my life was completely void of love. I felt heartbroken every day. My spirit was in pain but I had hopes.. I have always had hopes that the pain would someday fade away and that love would prevail. The universe saw me suffering and made changes to my life so that I would no longer suffer that kind of pain I was making myself endure for so long. I am filled with gratitude to the Universe. Love is no longer a dream… love is inside me and with me and all around me.

I thought I would share with you first a bit of history and then a ceremony you can do to welcome in the Celtic New Year.
First, here’s a bit of history:
Samhain (pronounced Sow-en), dates back to the ancient Celts who lived 2,000 years ago. Contrary to what some believe, is not a celebration of a Celtic god of the dead. Instead, it is a Celtic word meaning “summer’s end.” The Celts believed that summer came to an end on October 31st and the New Year began on November 1st with the start of winter.
At sunset on October 31, clans or local villages begin the formal ceremonies of Samhain by lighting a giant bonfire. During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, and danced around the fire. Many of these dances told stories or played out the cycles of life and death or commemorated the cycle of Wheel of Life. These costumes were adorned for three primary reasons.
The first was to honor the dead who were allowed to rise from the Otherworld. The Celts believed that souls were set free from the land of the dead during the eve of Samhain. Those that had been trapped in the bodies of animals were released by the Lord of the Dead and sent to their new incarnations. The wearing of these costumes signified the release of these souls into the physical world. Not all of these souls were honored and respected. Some were also feared as they would return to the physical world and destroy crops, hide livestock or ‘haunt’ the living who may have done them wrong.
The second reason for these traditional costumes was to hide from these malevolent spirits to escape their trickery.
The final representation was a method to honor the Celtic Gods and Goddesses of the harvest, fields and flocks. Giving thanks and homage to those deities who assisted the village or clan through the trials and tribulations of the previous year. And to ask for their favor during the coming year and the harsh winter months that were approaching.
Now that you have a little bit of history… here’s something you can do yourself to celebrate the Celtic New Year and cleanse yourself of the past and prepare for the days to come.
On two sheets of parchment paper you will make 2 lists:
The first list will be of all things you don’t want or no longer need in your life. Be specific!
The second list will be of things you want to keep in your life and things you would like to see coming into your life. Again, be specific.
You will take the “Keep” list, roll it up, tie it with a ribbon and place it in a safe place for the year. You will then take the “Get Rid of” list and burn it in a fire. Watch that list burn and imagine all the things on that list burning out of your life with it. Be sure while you do these acts that you do them with love in your heart. You don’t want bad karma, mojo or intentions intertwined with your ceremony. Do all things with love. You don’t wish for bad to come to anyone or anything in your lists … you just no longer want or need them in your life so you should wish them away with love and kindness so that the parting be an easier transition for all who may be involved.
And as with all ceremonies you should take time to yourself to reflect, prepare and ground yourself before beginning. Cleanse the space, yourself, your mind and body before the ceremony.

The August full moon known as the Wyrt Moon, the Wort, Barley, Corn, or Red Moon, is a time of abundance, agriculture, and marriage. This is the time to collect your magical herbs and store them for the winter or share them with others. Remember to give an offering back to the Earth for her generosity. At this time of the year, you might want to do magic to help someone else reap the benefits of the Earth’s abundance. (With that person’s permission, of course!) This is also a good time to make a move at work for that higher level position. If you have become pregnant, this is the time to concentrate your energies on having a healthy pregnancy.
And as with all full moons.. remember to set out your crystals and magical tools so that they may recharge with the Moon’s energy 🙂

The November Full Moon is the Snow Moon also known as the Beaver, Mourning or Tree Moon … depending on where you are from.
Remind yourself that although winter is coming, it will not last forever. Do what you can to reduce your stress and to strengthen your bonds with family and friends. Back before the advent of grocery stores and central heating, people really counted on those bonds, which could be the difference between making it through the winter or perishing. So, know who is really there for you, and count your blessings.
The moon offers us a lot of energy and when it is full it offers that much more. Use it wisely and responsibly. Be clear in your thoughts and actions.

Ginkgo is an absolutely fascinating herb, magically speaking. For one, it is the only tree on the planet that has survived basically unchanged since the dinosaur age. For another, it’s not too much of a stretch to look at the leaf shape and see one half of the hemisphere of the human brain. Indeed, the ancients saw this correlation and as a result, the leaf has been used as a brain food for centuries, both in medicine and in magic. Lastly, it is a tree that can survive for 1,000 years or more, making it a true “Tree of Life.
Due to its age, Ginkgo is considered an elder with high magical energy, and is used in longevity and age spells. A tradition is to plant a Ginkgo on the occasion of births to ensure long life, and in death to ensure longevity in the peaceful afterworld.
Ginkgo is also considered an aphrodisiac and fertility herb, and can be used in love and fertility spells to these ends. Indeed, Ginkgo seeds are sometimes substituted for Lotus seeds at weddings due to this property. One legend has it that if a girl sits under a male Ginkgo tree on a moonlit night, combs her hair and makes a wish, her wish will come true.
Wood from Ginkgo trees can be carried for healing, and the leaf can be used in healing rituals. Also try a tea for healing and for mental acuity before an examination or important business dealing.
Ginkgo Biloba is one of the most popular herbal remedies in use today. Like many other herbs, our ancestors have known of and taken advantage of its healing properties for centuries. Doctors recommend caution when taking this herb, as it is extremely potent. Symptoms of overuse include skin disorders, headaches, and other issues. Taken with respect for dosing guidelines, and awareness, Ginkgo Biloba can vastly enhance your alternative healing medicine cabinet.
The Ginkgo Biloba tree is the sole survivor of an entire genus of related trees, and therefore truly in a class all by itself. Fossil records indicate this tree flourished before and during the dinosaur era. Unlike the dinosaurs, and many other life forms, Ginkgo Biloba survived virtually unchanged. Aside from being an incredible survivor, the nature of this tree runs contrary to almost every other plant on Earth. To begin, it is a deciduous conifer; meaning its leaves fall off every year, unlike a pine tree. The Ginkgo tree also comes in female and male genders; with the later having motile sperm. In modern times, there are only a few samples of wild trees reported to be left in the Shandong province of China. Not only are some of these trees reputed to be over 3,000 years old, they sport aerial roots that took hundreds of years to develop.
The Ginkgo Biloba tree was first introduced in Europe in the early 18 th century where it gained immense popularity as an ornamental tree. In the 1980s, researchers discovered the potent effect extracts from this tree have on the cardiovascular system.
Almost every part of the tree has medicinal properties. The leaves are known to contain flavones glycosides, lactones, sitosterol, bioflavones, and anthocyanins. The main therapeutic function is the relaxation of blood vessels and stimulation of the circulatory system. Hence, the observation that Ginkgo improves mental function, as it improves blood flow in the brain. Continued research on this front holds promise for isolating a compound that will reduce, or perhaps even alleviate the symptoms of dementia that often accompanies Alzheimer’s disease. Fluid extract from fresh Ginkgo Biloba leaves are already widely sold in Europe to treat cerebral arteriosclerosis in the elderly.
Recent research has demonstrated that ginkgolide, a compound found in the leaves, is as effective as many standard pharmaceutical drugs currently used to treat irregular heartbeats. Tinctures made from fresh Ginkgo Biloba leaves are combined with other herbs such as periwinkle and linden to treat a number of circulatory problems. Many herbalists also combine the leaves of the Ginkgo tree with king’s clover to treat venous disorders.
Other uses for the Ginkgo Biloba leave include the treatment of varicose veins, leg ulcers, inflammations, and hemorrhoids. For these ailments, herbalists make an infusion that can be turned into a wash.
The Ginkgo Biloba seeds are also rich in minerals, fatty acids, and bioflavones. The seeds are especially popular in traditional Chinese medicine, and are called bai gou. They are believed to act on the lung and kidneys and are used to treat the symptoms of asthmatic disorders, and all chest problems that produce thick phlegm. The seeds of the Ginkgo tree are also believed to have a toning effect on the urinary system, and are useful in the treatment of excessive urination, or incontinence.
The Ginkgo Biloba tree has become firmly established in the repertoire of all herbalists. Researchers today are confirming a wealth of healing properties for the cardiovascular system. With careful attention to dosing guidelines, the Ginkgo Biloba can be safe, effective, and reliable in treating various illnesses.

Today I want to take a moment to talk about the world around us and the magic that goes unseen by most. You see magic isn’t always those things that take our breath away and then again .. it’s all in how you “see”. Most think of magic as a trick or something even made up… not real. Magic is very real.. magic is inside us .. all of us. Yep, that’s right.. magic lives inside of every one of us. It’s a part of everything… you just have to know how to “see” it.
I was standing at the window this morning as my breakfast was warming in the microwave and I was in awe of how the sun was shining through the leaves of a tree just outside the window. When my breakfast had finished warming, I put it on my desk, grabbed my camera and on my way out to photograph the tree.. I stumbled across a few other magical moments that caught my eye. You see beauty and magic can be found in the most ordinary of things, if only you wish to see it.

I’m going to try and dedicate Mondays to Magical posts. Don’t be surprised if you find that my magical posts are what one might expect. I’m all about mixing things up and keeping it real. That being said.. let’s move on to our first Magical Monday post!
Mondays are hard… it’s back to work from a weekend that is always too short. Let’s take time every Monday to empower ourselves, rev up our engines and charge our week for positive thoughts, actions and manifestations.
Find a chant, phrase or even a simple thought that fits your needs for the week ahead and repeat it as often as needed throughout the day.

I was having a playful conversation with my husband tonight … he was having a tummy ache and I said to him … “one kiss from me love and your tummy will be all better”. He kept changing the subject and I asked… ” don’t you believe in my magic love?”. He would never answer me, so I walked away. I said to him If you believed in my magic, you could feel all better but since you don’t believe you’ll just have to suffer.. lol. A few minutes later I said ” you know what… I believe in you” .. he said “but I’m not magic”. I just left it at that, but you know what? He is.. he just doesn’t know it.
One kiss from him reduces my stress to absolutely nothing. My worries, my fears, my concerns.. everything is gone with just a kiss. Now that’s magic! Too bad he doesn’t even realize it… but all is not lost .. because I know he is.. I feel it every time I look at him.. every time he touches me and every time his lips touch mine.
Magic you see isn’t pulling a rabbit out of a hat or turning bad men into frogs … magic is something more special than that!

It’s not often in life that we get the privilege to feel the universe cheering us on… as if we are on the right track and Spirit keeps giving us that “atta boy” pat on the back to keep us trucking on in the right direction. When it does happen .. be sure to stop for a moment to make note and give thanks. Don’t let those moments just slip on by. Enjoy the moment!
This morning as I made my way into the office …. I sat down at my computer… turned it on and right away I get a really great message from a Facebook friend thanking me for making her mornings bright. I was caught off guard but it sure did bring a smile to my face as well. She was thanking me for something that I had hoped would happen when I post the things I post and when I blog about the many topics I touch upon.. but you never know if the message is really getting out… I often wonder if it really means anything to anyone. The confirmation this morning from my friend was a wonderful gift!

In the middle of our conversation I ran out quickly to refill the bird feeder outside my office window. Just as I stepped out the back door of the office, I heard a noise, looked up and several crows were perching on top of a street lamp just across the street. I put my bird seed down and grabbed my camera to snap a couple of pics and WOW!!! A hawk flew into the frame and was buzzing the crows sitting

on top of the light. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and couldn’t believe that I was lucky enough to be standing there with my camera in hand taking pics of it all! I am still excited with the energy that was stirred from this event!
I love those little surprises .. the crows, the hawk.. the message from a friend.
Here’s a bit of info for the Hawk and the Crow:
Hawk is the messenger, the protector and the visionaries of the Air. It holds the key to higher levels of consciousness. This totem awakens vision and inspires a creative life purpose.
Crow lives in the void and has no sense of time, therefore, it sees past, present and future simultaneously. Crow merges both light and dark, both inner and outer. They are symbols of creation and spiritual strength. Look for opportunities to create and manifest the magic of life. Crows are messengers calling to us about the creation and magic that is alive in the world today and available to us.
So what does all of this tell us?
It tells us to always be ready and willing to enjoy the moment when it comes. You never know from what direction love, kindness, happiness, surprises and magic will appear. Be ready and willing to accept it as it comes!

Today I pull the Moon card from the Vision Quest Deck and how fitting is it that at the end of this week we have a Blue Moon!! Yep, that’s right a Blue Moon! No, the moon won’t really be blue, as in the color blue… a Blue Moon is when we have 2 full moons in 1 month.. the Blue Moon is the second full moon of that month. They don’t happen very often, so that’s why the phrase “once in a blue moon”.
Understanding the moon cycles and the effects they have on us can help in many ways. Paying attention to when the moon is full or new is a start. You will notice how people change during these times. It’s not just the full moon that effects us… all phases of the moon have different effects on every person. When you keep track of the phases and watch the people around you.. you will begin to see how indeed the phases do take their toll.
Understanding how the phases effect you are even better. If you tend to become more emotional during a specific phase, you can then alter your thoughts and emotions a little bit better knowing that part of what you are feeling has more to do with the moon phase than anything else going on at that moment. Same goes if you tend to get happier, angrier, quieter or whatever the mood. Knowing why can help you far more than one might think. It allows you to step away from your emotions and see more clearly what’s really going and why you feel the way you feel so intensely.
As the moon cycles around the Earth and moves closer an further away, we know that the ocean is effected and the ocean is what?? WATER! What are we made up of??? Approximately 60% of water and our brain consists of 70% water.. and we wonder how on Earth the moon effects us so drastically… LOL
There is magic to be found in all things… the Moon, just another giant sphere of Magic!

The Wolf Moon, also known as the Cold, Snow, or Winter Moon, is a time of protection and strength. While it is the first full Moon of the year, in terms of nature it occurs in the middle of the cold winter season, a season of death and desolation when the trees and the land is bare. Ok so I am on my way to the art store this morning and straight away I am stopped at every traffic light with it’s red glare looming overhead. From my house the the art store there are 16 traffic lights! I really don’t want to have to stop at every single one of these lights on my quick trip to the art store. Stopping at the 3rd traffic light and look up at it and say “Ok lights that’s enough, do you mind if I pass on through? Could you all stay green for me?” At that point the light turns green and I continue my journey. Light 4 is green… YAY! Light 5, 6, 7 and 8 are all green. I’m thinking oh yeah this is great! Lights 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 are all green as well.. wow.. is this really going to work… will all the lights be green? Lights 14, 15 and 16 GREEN!!! Yes! I made it to the art store and all the lights after the 3rd one were green!
Ok so you know I am going to try it again on my way back home. Well it didn’t quite work out as planned. Maybe half or a little better were green, the others all red except for one at a chrurch crossing which the police had disabled and made all of us on the main road sit and wait while the church goers made their way out of the church parking lot.
So what has life told me on this little trip to the art store?
1. All things are possible if you believe.
2. You have within you the power to make your wishes come true.
3. You can’t always get everything you ask for.
4. Be happy with what you got because it can get worse!
5. Life is what you make it to be.
Today I believed in my own magic and so even if it was a coincidence I felt magical because I chose to believe!
Oh and on the way back listening to the radio I received an answer to something my husband and I were pondering last night during our mosaic madness. The answer was right there in a song.
so……
6. The answers are there.. you just have to listen.

I love, love, love my magical life.. I really do.. it brightens my days and brightens the light inside me as well. That being said.. I have to tell you about my commute home from work this afternoon. Here we go:
Well, earlier today I was blogging about work ethics and about doing the best you can do and then taking it a step further … all the while that I was writing about this I was thinking about my husband because he is that way as well. He just cannot make himself do something half way. He always has to go a step beyond what one might think you should do so that he does it better than what was done before.
Well.. the thoughts of my darling husband lingered through my mind all the way home. Every time I think of him, I can’t help but smile. It’s one of those smiles that starts right in the center of your being and just jumps right out onto your face as though it cannot be contained! So, I’m driving home and thinking about him and smiling all the while and I thought to myself, “thoughts of my hubby are just fluttering through my mind like a butterfly upon a breeze” I know, I know.. I’m sappy that way.
Just a few minutes into my drive and “Our Song” comes on the radio… ok so you know I had to chuckle a bit to myself as a grin covered my entire face. I reach over and turn up the radio and at that moment I am in a que to merge onto another section of the interstate and as I sat there singing along to “our song” I look over at the traffic and in the median bounces a butterfly right past my car.. LOL! Finally I make it up to the merge and as traffic from the other lanes are mingling a truck moves over in front of me with the license plate of 777LVV. I think to myself…. “OMG, can this get much better!” You see we were married on 7/7/07 :-). I continue singing and making my way home.
The song is over and I can’t get much happier. I’m on my way home, I have a wonderful husband and life is pretty good today. As these thoughts fill my mind, it’s time to merge again and you won’t believe this but now I am behind another car with one of those angelic numbered license plates. This time it’s 444, which means the angels are surrounding you and with you. You can imagine, I am all grins!
My commute is about an hours drive and now I am getting really close to home. Again, I am qed up to merge onto the last bit of highway just before hitting the back streets to home. I’m sitting there at a mere crawl inching my way forward, the windows are down, the radio is on and a cool breeze comes into my window. I breathe a heavy sigh and think to myself,” What a beautiful day” just then a car slowly passes by and yep you guessed it another plate with angelic numbers. This time it’s 111, which means opportunity and new doorways opening up.
Just seconds after seeing the 111, this thought rolled into my head, “I just need to let go of thinking about the things I don’t have and concentrate on what I do have in my life”. Just as that thought finished, I look over and there is yet another car with 444 on the license plate! I’m thinking.. no one will ever believe this! This was the universe confirming my path or at least that’s how I like to believe.
Just amazing! Funny how life works. Those things that can’t be explained. Some call them coincidences … I call it magic!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. quiet yourself.. quiet the world around you and listen ..
The trees are whispering among themselves… it’s nearly that time again for them to take their rest. It’s been a long hot summer and they have survived once again… so now they find some time to relax and let down their hair as leaves gently fall toward the ground. A heavy sigh and it’s nap time once again for the trees, the flowers and even some of our four legged friends.
This weekend while I was taking breaks from working on my newest stained glass projects… I would quite easily lose track of time starring outside my window .. watching the birds and the squirrels prepare for the cooler weather on its way.. leaves fell from the trees like a gentle rain and my back yard now looks a lot like a patchwork quilt with colorful patches of leaves blanketing the ground.
What a beautiful sight! Many may have looked out that window and said.. oh great now I have to rake.. but not me.. I just thought .. How Beautiful! Thank you Creator for the gift!
Make sure you take some time from your days to enjoy nature. Enjoy life. Enjoy just being.
It does the mind and body good to rest. We need that down time to recharge and refuel.
What is life without the time to enjoy it?

There’s that wicked witch working her wicked ways
Healing others with the words she says
Colored chords and candles castling light
People talk and rumors spread that she’s just not right
Casting into the heavens for dreams and wishes come true
They says she conjures and cooks up some sort of terrible brew
Misunderstood and shunned to always be alone
This wicked witch is surely evil, straight to the bone
The smiles, goodness and light, people rarely choose to notice
You see, this wicked witch has as many layers as the lotus
She protects, she heals and she cares
But all that they talk about is how she scares
Dare she own a pet, especially a cat that is black
For the stories will grow of how once she flew off into the night like a bat
Herbs hanging around the kitchen walls
Oils on the shelves with her crystal balls
There is meaning behind every tools she owns
But what they say is .. she kills animals to keep their bones
You see, they know not of what they speak
Their ignorance makes them ever so gullible and weak
This wicked witch is not what they make her out to be
She is as gentle and caring as a warm summer breeze
She follows the moon as it begins to wax and wane
She’s not afraid to dance nor sing in the rain
Her life is filled with magic in every way
Deeds for the good are done day by day
Caring for the Earth and all it’s creatures
Come, take a closer look at her features
You’ll not see a warted nose upon her face
Only a gentleness within her eyes and a smile to take its place
So, when you hear of them speak of the wicked witch and her wicked ways
Remember the words within this phrase:
Harm none .. do as ye will
For this is the motto of a witch that is not a fairytale but 100% real!

Sigh…. It never gets old or common place.. that kiss…. when his lips touch mine I find myself lost in his kiss. You know how in those romantic movies the camera slows to focus on the couple locked in a magical kiss.. the camera zooms in on their faces and slowly encircles them as the background becomes fuzzy and fades away …. as if the world around them has completely disappeared… well that’s exactly how I feel every time my husband’s lips touch mine.
No matter what else in the world is going on … my worries and my stress lessen and I am lost in the magic of a single kiss. Moments I treasure … moments that stay with me long after they are gone.
Take time in your life to treasure those moments… a kiss, a warm embrace, a glance in your direction, a smile, a touch … time passes so quickly and our lives are filled with things to be done.. don’t let these small but priceless treasures get lost in the busy… busy .. hustle of day to day living.
When those moments come … take in the moment and relish it … allow yourself to truly be in that moment and not elsewhere.

So here we are again this year … just 1 month ago Toast of Music City kicked off the voting for “The Best of” for the Nashville area .. the public got to vote for everything in the area from Best Restaurant to Best Child Care and Local Celeb..
You or someone you know can submit any business or local person for any category and then for 4 weeks votes are cast daily.
So there I am listed in Best Blog and Best Artist (Visual) .. every day for 4 weeks I posted links hoping for votes .. fingers crossed .. hoping for the best.
Any artist will be able to relate.. we do what we do because it’s who we are .. it’s in our blood to create … we don’t do it for money or fame but in the back of our minds it sure would be great to be recognized for all that we put into our creations.
Late yesterday the winners were posted online.. I am truly humbled and honored to say that I MADE IT!!!
I certainly don’t believe I am the best artist or blogger by any means … but what I am certain of is that I have the very best friends and fans anyone could ever ask for. Taking time out of their day for 4 weeks straight to cast a vote my way and for that I am truly .. truly blessed.
As an artist and blogger I give it my all each day .. with every blog .. and every piece of art I create. Always working to improve and do the best that I can do. My hopes are to bring a bit of peace and healing to the world in any way that I can through my blogs and writing and with my art .. I just hope to make others smile, relate and connect.

Swaying with the wind
I dance beneath the willow, a long time friend
Branches so long and flowing
A place where magical dreams come to life
The willow, it heals me without even knowing
Beyond the hill the mighty oak stands
Like a courageous warrior in the night
The thunder Gods begin to sing and share their electric light
Strong and true, the oak reaches for my hand

The birch tree reminds me of a new beginning

He offers healing and protection
Beauty and justice, this cedar does share
As it’s branches reach up high through the air

Creative and robust, he stands so very tall
Lending longevity to us all
Stumbling over the fields and hay
The maple helps me find balance on my way
Promises we make as we dance across the plane
The maple’s colors are absolutely insane

Each of us has a song inside … it resonates who we truly are. It comes from our heart and soul… bellowing out from the core of who we are inside and out.
Each song is unique to the person in which it resides.. none more important than the other.
The question of the night is: Do you know your own song?

Do you sing it proudly?
Does it ring of pride?
Does it carry a tune of sadness or joy.. maybe a mixture of the two?

Does it beat fast or slow?
Does this song bring tears or smiles… or maybe both?
Is it a healing song?
The answers only you will know… important to none other than you.
Step inside yourself for a moment and listen to your own song … allow yourself to be filled with its melody … get to know it .. get to know yourself..
Within this song are the answers you seek… the person you maybe thought was lost is still there … listen to the sounds and find yourself …. sway with the beat and dance to the tune of you and be proud of the person that is there.

I tell you I have been there … so many times.. I have visited this place … you know.. that sad place deep inside you where you go to when you’ve been hurt.. when you’re sad and lonely .. when you feel like no one else in the world feels the way you do.
That place you escape to … that place where you think no one will notice how sad and lonely you are or how deeply hurt you may be..
I just wanted to send out a great big {{{hug}}} to all those finding themselves in that place.
So I’m posting this little message to let you know you’re not alone.. there are people who care.. you just have to let them help you .. let them love and care for you ..
Pull yourself out of that lonely place and try to have a bit of fun.. laugh … and live .. don’t let anyone make you feel like you don’t deserve to be loved ..

Here I stand on the longest day of the year…. stretching my hands to the universe accepting of the energy that comes fourth. Thankful for the blessings in my life and hopeful of a future filled with many more.
A time when the days stop growing and the nights stop shrinking …
A time to begin working with your dreams.
Tonight when the sun finally slips down and calls it a night… I’ll lay my head upon my pillow and dream many dreams for happy days to come.
Dreaming of the love I have found and growing old together… still smiling at each other when those days come to an end. Dreaming of creations yet to be realized and created. Dreaming of peace and love for all my family and friends. Dreaming of the future… of an ease of life, of fresh air, clean water and our warm and cozy home. Dreaming dreams that keep us dreaming, keep us hoping, keep us living, keep us smiling.
Tomorrow I shall awake and follow those dreams as I do each and every day. Never giving up, never stopping when I fall. I’ll continue to chase those dreams til my days find their end.
The Solstice, where the days are still much longer than the night, we have time to bring our dreams into creation… and as each night comes to be, we are given a wee bit more time to focus our intent within our dreaming. Use this time wisely.
Let your dreams be realized in the sun lit hours while the moon guides you through the night and keeps you dreaming those dreams that keep you living the life you always knew could be possible.

The February full moon … also known as the Storm Moon, the Death or Quickening Moon
This is a time to release all things that you have been holding on to from the past …
Release that baggage .. don’t hold on to it .. Spring is just around the corner and you’ll need to be traveling light … don’t carry that old baggage with you into the time of awakening.
We tend to hold things in while going through a time of hardship or turmoil.. to keep us from falling apart in the middle of it all… now is a good time to release it.
Step out in the moonlight tonight and just let it go…. cry, scream, laugh, sing if you need to … whatever it is you need to do to let it go… go for it .. let it go!
Burn a bit of smudge and breathe in the goodness.. releasing all that is holding you down or holding you back.
Spirit whispers in my ear … there are great things coming to you this Spring .. there will be much to do .. so let go of whatever burdens you now … the time will come when you will need to be able to move quickly … and think fast … holding o to past baggage and burdens will hold you back from moving forward… it’s ok to let it go… you can do this…. the world won’t fall apart … just release it and watch as miracles happen right before you.

The days, now getting longer as they grow

Preparation and work go hand in hand

Take care of the details and all will be fine
Nurture and trust what you sow

Word of the day …. Magic!
What do you see.. feel ..or think … when you hear that word .. Magic ?
Me, I can’t help but smile.. for me so much comes to mind ..
I think of the full moon glowing so brightly in the midnight sky..
I see a golden sunset where the sky is full of magnificent colors..
I think of the sound of the leaves rustling on the ground in fall..
I see the country side filled with color suddenly when the winds change and the air cools in autumn..
I think of all the unseen around us ..
I think of the miracles that happen every day …
I see my children .. and remember the day they were born ..
It’s how I feel warm and fuzzy as my husband reaches out to hold my hand .. or when he brushes back my hair late at night..
It’s remembering the first kiss … his lips on mine and all the world fading away …
I think of all the dreams and wishes that have come and gone..
I feel my heart as it pounds when I lay my head on my husbands shoulder and inhale the scent I know as him and I am comforted and happy..
It’s winter’s first snow or spring’s first rain
It’s that four leaf clover you finally found
It’s being a kid and making snow angles on the ground
Magic to me is many things ..
It’s our song playing on the radio just as I was thinking of him
It’s letting go.. It’s opening up
It’s finding your place, your home.. your path
Its the laughter of a child
Its feeling free and going wild

Beneath the October Moon.. what’s that I see
Strange and exciting things have come to be
Once unseen, now visible to the eye
Witches, goblins and spirits.. Oh My!
What are they doing, why are they there
Have they come to cause a fright… a great big scare!
Up on their broomsticks and soaring through the sky
The year is now turning and the leaves are beginning to die.
Red, yellow, brown and gold
The days grow short as the nights grow cold
Be thankful now for the harvest reaped
Who’s that stepping through the veil to take a peek?
Those once here but now passed away
Have come over to say hello as they go on their way
Candles are lit for a safe passage through
Don’t worry , only silly ghosts say BOO!
