Have you figured out who you are and what you want? It’s time to take off the mask, come out of hiding and stop pretending. It’s time to embrace the real you and show yourself and the rest of the world the real you.
The magic of the universe strikes again! A mystery man steps into my world and shows me something I have been blind to. A self realization is made that changes so many things for me. I share with you all this story of a wolf and how it has come out of it’s hiding place.
In this world there are so many that wear a mask to make themselves blend in. Don’t be one of those people. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. Be true to yourself so that you can be truthful with others and you will attract the best people into your world. Those who pretend to be something they are not will never find true happiness. Happiness comes from knowing who you are and loving that person. Those wearing a mask, lose themselves inside that mask. You were born unique, embrace it and let your unique light shine!
Life is too short to worry about what others think about you or what their opinion is about what you should be doing or what you believe in or anything else they think. Be true to you… be yourself, be unique and different. You’ll not find happiness trying to follow everyone else’s rules … so make your own rules and be YOU!
We were all born knowing who we are. Over the process of growing up, we have all of these outside influences telling us who we are and who we should be… parents, family, friends and teachers all telling us who we are and what we should be doing. We loose our own truth. Years later we get to a point in our lives where we find ourselves wondering what happened. We ask ourselves… How did I get here? Who am I? What do I want? It’s confusing to say the least. We then have to go through the painful process of figuring it all out again. Find the things that light your soul on fire and you will find your true self.
Be who you are without fear ..
We are happiest when we don’t have to hide or mask the true self… when we are allowed the freedom to be exactly who we are without criticism and without fear of others looking at us with the tilted head and disapproving look on their faces.
I have learned that those type of people exist no matter where you are or where you go. There is always someone out there that won’t agree with everything you do or everything you believe.
Be yourself and don’t worry about what if someone doesn’t like this or that .. what if I look foolish .. what if I fail.. what if it doesn’t work exactly as planned .. what if.. what if… what if ….
I know from experience those “what ifs” are the true killer. Every day that you don’t do something that feels right in your soul .. those what ifs eat away at you .. and your mind takes you on a nasty journey of self doubt.
Now please, do use common sense when living your life and making choices. Don’t do those things that you know may hurt you or someone else in some way.
Just follow your heart and be true to who you are. Follow your truest dreams and don’t let the ideas of others cause you self doubt.
You never know .. some of those dreams may just come true.
As my favorite quote goes:
Only the ones who believe,
Ever see what they dream
Ever dream what comes true….
This statement short and simple, but I feel many will have a deeper understanding to its truth than one might think.
Often in our journey we allow the ideas and thoughts of others interfere with our own quest. We allow those ideas to seep into our path and distract us from where we were going. We begin to question what we already knew to be our own truth. Those ideas get intertwined with ours and distort the vision we had for ourselves. It’s like a contamination. We must learn to hear the ideas of others without those ideas taking away from our journey forward and our purpose.
Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and the path that is true to you. It is okay to walk away from those things that don’t feel true to you and your path.
Perched high up in the trees today I was watching a crowd of people go by and noticed that not many of them seemed to be very happy. There weren’t very many smiles on their faces, no spring in their steps and overall they just looked a bit preoccupied and gloomy.
I asked Grandfather Crow why were the people like that and he said, “they are not living as themselves”.
“What ever do you mean by that, Grandfather?”, I asked.
So many of them live through the eyes of others instead of living through their own eyes. They are not being who they were born to be.
Look at our other feathered cousins for a moment. The owl does not live all day thinking I wish I were a crane and the bluebird does not live all day thinking about how to turn his blue feathers to red.
The owl was born to be an owl and so lives as an owl. The Bluebird was born a bluebird and lives as a bluebird.
The owl is not wishing for longer legs and the bluebird is not wishing for feathers of any other color than his own.
One owl does not tell another owl how to fly, hunt or hoot and the bluebird does not compare his life to that of the redbird. They are who they were born to be.
It does not even enter their minds that they should be or want to be any different than who they are. They are happy being themselves.
The wren sings as loud as the wren can sing because it was born to do so and does not wish for another voice or even try to change it’s voice… it is perfectly happy with the voice it was given and uses it to the best of its ability.
Most people don’t live this way, Little Crow.. instead they allow outsiders to tell them how they should be, who they should be and how to act and live… they have forgotten who they were born to be. This makes them seem sad. If they can find themselves again you will see the changes in their whole being. The spring will be back in their step, smiles upon their faces and hope and love will fill their hearts. Until then, Little Crow.. I am afraid that people will continue as you saw them today.
Lets talk today about Awakening to your true self..
These are my thoughts alone so please don’t think I am saying that any of this
is ultimate truth for all.. because we all need to find our own truths .. and
that indeed is a part of awakening to the true self.
I feel as though we are born to be a certain person … or at least a
particular type person .. we are all born with particular gifts and it is for
us to find those gifts and develop them .. and then take them out into the
world and share them.
As we develop and grow we try on many faces. Hoping to find one that really
fits and feels right.
Awakening to our true self is identifying the face that needs no mask.
Identifying with your own soul .. finding the true you .. and then allowing
that person to be free.
Awakening causes us to put down our masks and be true to not just all that come
in contact with us but also true to ourselves.
We must awaken to the gifts we have been given and we must put them to use.
We must stop finding faults within and stop holding ourselves back with self
created fears and doubts.
We must find love for ourselves and then that love is free to pour out into the
Be proud and not ashamed of who you are.
Be strong and hold your head high. Do not allow the ideas and thoughts of
others make you hide your gifts or any other part of who you truly are.
Awakening to true self gives you freedom from such negative thoughts others may
project onto you.
Awakening to true self … makes you aware of not only your surroundings in
the world.. but also to your own thoughts, actions and gifts.
When you are truly awake .. you see the world with new eyes … like the fog
has been lifted and suddenly things start becoming clear.
It’s not something that happens overnight, so don’t sit there expecting that to
I’m sorry to say that there is not set ritual.. ceremony .. life experience ..
or certain age that the awakening will happen. The awakening will happen
when the time is right and when you are ready.
You might say, “Oh I am ready now”, so I will do ceremony on next full moon
and from that point on I will be awake.. quiet giggle… I won’t say that it
won’t work. What I am saying is that it will work only if it is time and you
are TRULY ready .. so don’t give up .. just continue the journey as you are
guided and learn to trust your inner senses.
The awakening process is a long and often painful one.. again, I will say …
well worth the effort.. 🙂
Many blessings to all
