Today, spend some time acknowledging the changes that have come to be in your life. Look at how far you have come and know that you are on your way to where you want to be. Your vision is more clear than ever. We are becoming the butterfly and taking on new experiences with a fresh new perspective.
We are smack dab in the middle of winter and outside look bleak while the Earth continues to rest for the remainder of winter. It won’t be long and she will awake with much to do. Flowers to grow, trees to bud, animals to birth and life to nourish.
Today is one of those crazy Tennessee days where it’s nearly 60 degrees, mid-January…. I have stepped outside with my camera several times in hope to click something spectacular but I’ve not found much at all to focus on.
As I stepped outside and was leaning against the railing I spotted this little downy feather in one of the shrubs, it was waving back and fourth with the breeze. It is a reminder that although today might not bring me the things I hoped…. there is still that… HOPE. I smiled at the little feather, so small and delicate there waving at me. So tiny and yes it still got my attention and I am thankful for the reminder that there is always more to come. More to look forward to and more to live for.
I made my way back around to the other side of the building, about to step back inside to get back to work when I noticed this bird nest in a little tree up on the hill. I stepped up to take a couple of shots and again smiled at the thought that in a few shorts month this nest might be home to a new family, creating new life. I’ll definitely keep my eyes on this one and with any luck we’ll all get to witness the miracle of life in the Spring.
So much to look forward to.
Don’t waste your time energy thinking about the things you don’t have… instead shift your focus on what’s to come, life will be so much more fun and enjoyable with that new perspective.
Not every day can be lollipops and giggles… but no matter what life is throwing at you, there is beauty to be seen. The negativity in a day is in reality just a small part of our life. It will pass soon and we will look back and wonder why we stressed so much over that tiny little moment of our lives. During those moments of stress, hardship and despair it’s extremely difficult to see anything other … but if we can manage if even for a moment to change our focus … we may be able to also gain some perspective on that moment.
Seeing obstacles for what they instead of how they make us feel at that moment… feelings of dread, fear, sorrow, anger, etc dissipate more quickly and the situation becomes more manageable.
How to do this?
Stay aware. Be open to seeing every thing in life with more than one point of view. Make a conscience effort daily to integrate this way of seeing into your life. Take each moment as it comes and if possible find a way to step back from that moment that brings you such stress and anxiety to reflect on what is real and what is made up with emotions.
This morning I was feeling very rushed and tense… I got as much work done as I could until the printers ran out of toner and not a single box left in the office to replace it so that I could stay on this productive sprint of Monday morning madness.
With a heavy sigh, I called in the toner order, made myself a bowl of oatmeal and thought … I’ll just see what Spirit has for us today and post today’s insight. I shuffle my cards for several minutes and then a handful of cards flew out of my hand… yeah well that was either Spirit saying I had shuffled long enough or I’m really crap at shuffling cards.. lol.. you decide!
Right away when I picked up this batch of cards I knew it was the top one that I would be talking about .. so I picked up the cards and turned over the top card to see what it was. Today’s insight would be about …… drum roll please…. INSIGHT! HA! HA!
I sat there and giggled to myself .. now how to word this subject line? Hmmmmm
So what’s today’s “insight” really about? Just that .. being able to step back and look at the situation from different points of view. Insight comes from seeing more than just one side of things… it comes from understanding yourself and the world you live in. It comes from a change in perspective.
Today I believe that Spirit was telling me not to stress so much … take a moment to laugh and learn how to enjoy the day.
