Would You Come Back?

A while back I had a conversation with someone who doesn’t believe in reincarnation and her argument was “why would you want to come back?”.

My argument was “Why wouldn’t you?”.

It doesn’t matter if you believe in reincarnation or not. That’s not what this post is about .. what it IS about is finding reasons to live life all over again.

Some of my reasons for wanting to live life all over again:

Falling in love all over again
Giving birth to my children, holding them in my arms all over again
The excitement and wonder of Christmas
Jumping in that huge pile of leaves that took you all day to rake up
Giggles and laughter
Moments spent with friends
Talking all night on the phone
The first kiss
Making a difference in someone’s life for the better
Accomplishment
Feeling that first kick
Singing in the car, not caring who sees
Sunsets and sunrises
Summers first rain
Winters first snow
Snow angels
Sledding!
Snow days!
Trick or Treat
Sleepovers
Wondering how the Easter Bunny got into the house to hide your eggs
Swinging as high as you can swing
Spinning in circles til you fall down
Cuddles with the one you love
Kisses
Hugs
Baby’s first words or steps
A cuddle by the fire
Hot soup on a cold winter’s day
Bubble baths
Dreams
Birthday Cake!
Giving
Vacations
Recess!

This list goes on forever ………

Do you see? There is so much you would miss if not ever born… why wouldn’t you want to do it over and over again?

No matter what you believe .. no matter how hard the road has been … there is reason to live!

Perspective

upside down birdToday I got a great lesson in perspective. I posted an inspirational video online.. well it was “suppose” to be inspirational.

The theme of the video was to follow your path in life doing what makes you feel good, what makes you happy and what you enjoy doing. That’s the message I took away from the video.

To me, he speaker was saying … why work all your life doing something you hate when there are opportunities out there that enable you to do something you enjoy. The speaker spoke for a moment about working for the sake of just making more money and mentioned that in order to find happiness in our “Living” we may or may not have to take a pay cut… make your life about what you enjoy doing and not about just making a dollar. I totally understood where they were coming from. Especially since I had spent the previous day on the phone for well over an hour, being transferred from one person to the next in comcast’s customer service department. I went from one miserable person to the next … none wanting to actually give me any quality “customer service” .. until finally I came upon someone who didn’t hate their job and was actually wanting to help.

Another person viewed the same exact video and all they took from it was that everyone should do what they want and join Peter Pan in fantasy land. He said that it didn’t encourage hard work at all.

Wow! I don’t recall the speaker saying anything about slacking off. In fact I remember him saying that when you enjoy what you do you soon become an expert at whatever it is simply because you will put your whole self into it far more than a job you are doing simply to make a dollar. AND you will find yourself a much happier person while doing it.

For instance: Some people actually like working in customer service and enjoy helping others.. THOSE people will excel at their jobs while the others will just do the least expected to make that paycheck.

As with all things lets use some common sense folks. Don’t watch a video and quit your job without making sure your responsibilities are covered … instead take the inspiration from that video and go the extra mile to make your own dreams happen. Go back to school, learn a new hobby or trade, make the effort while keeping your responsibilities in life met.

The resources are there if you look long and hard enough. The change may not happen over night but with commitment and drive .. you will someday begin to live your dreams.

Many Blessings,

P.S. if your dream is to just sit on the sofa, stuffing your face and watching TV …. well I was going to say … find a new dream but now thinking about it for a moment .. I’m sure there is probably a job out there for you somewhere that will allow you to do just that! LOL

It’s Right There!

IMG_9490It’s right there next to you, behind you, in front of you, above, below and all around you.  It’s right there!

Peace, love, joy and excitement.

Sure there are other things as well… but that doesn’t take away the peace, love, joy and magic that also exist.

It may be storming but the love, peace, joy and magic can still be found… if you just look for it.

If all you look for is rain.. that’s all you will find.

Take each day as it comes and find you’ll it.

A cool breeze on a hot, sunny day.
A refreshing moment beneath a shade tree.
The warmth of a sweater on a cold night.
The coolness of your pillow on the flip side.
A smile
A giggle
A friend
A kiss
A hug
A snuggle
The warmth of a campfire
Lightening bugs a dusk
The song of a bird
The purrr of a kitten
An eager welcome home from your pet
The smell of jasmine blooming in late spring
Snow cones and ice cream!
4 leaf clovers
Babies sleeping
The quiet at the end of a long day
The chatter of children at play
Movie Night
Doing something right
Sunsets and sunrises
Unexpected surprises

It’s all there… no matter where you go…

Just take another look and you’ll see … It’s Right There!

Many Blessings for a great day!

Rich Or Poor – How Rich Are You?

One of my favorite inspirational stories…

Rich Or Poor – How Rich Are You?

It All Depends on the way You Look At Things.

One day a rich father took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night on the farm of a very poor family.

When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“Very good Dad!”

“Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked.

“Yeah!”

“And what did you learn?”

The son answered, “I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden, they have a creek that has no end.We have imported lamps in the garden, they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon.”

When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless.

His son added, “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are!”
