Crystal Digging in Arkansas

This past weekend I spent two days at Sweet Surrender Crystal Mine digging in the dirt and mud for quartz crystals! It’s an amazing experience and such great energy from the land there. Connecting with the Earth and nature in a way that gives you a sense of being fully recharged… I’ll post another video of all my finds as soon as they are done being cleaned in the muriatic acid they are sitting in at the moment.. it usually takes about a week or two to get all the iron ore off them.

Choosing Stones & Crystals

crystal2Crystals & stones have long been used for healing purposes of all kinds. Each one having its own unique properties and qualities. There are websites all over the place that elaborate on all the many different types of crystals and stones and their many uses.

Find a website that you trust when it comes to understanding their properties. Also you have to use your own intuition as well when it comes to picking out one that best fits you and your needs.

So you have done some research and you know what type of crystal or stone you need and now all you have to do is find one. Here’s what you do:

If you are able to go into a physical store and touch the stones, then that is the best way of choosing. Pick up and touch every stone of the type you are looking for with your intentional use  in mind. Eventually you’ll pick up a stone that you feel that you just can’t put down or that you’ll keep going back to. THAT is your stone! If you can’t find one that calls to you then you’ll have to find another shop or wait til they have new inventory.

If you can’t get into a physical shop and you are shopping online for your stones then it’s a little bit different since you can’t touch the stones and feel their energy. You’ll have to keep that intentional use in mind while surfing through websites. The same feeling will come upon you when you find THE ONE. It will be stone that you just keep coming back to. A stone that imprints on your mind and connects with you.

I hope this has been of help.. now go out and get some stones!

Crystal Digging

Well this weekend a few of us made our yearly trip to Sweet Surrender Crystal Mine in Story, Arkansas just outside Hot Springs, Arkansas … as usual it was fantastic. There is just something magical about putting your hands into the Earth and pulling out a treasure.  The weather was cold and rainy but the treasure hunting was cleansing. I know you are thinking … how can digging around in the dirt and mud be cleansing … lol.. I’m not sure this is something you can understand by reading… it’s something you will have to experience for yourself.

The weather this year wasn’t so nice to us… but every year we learn something new about digging for crystals.

Year 1 – we learned to go before it gets too hot! and wear lots of sunscreen and there is really only one tool you truly need.
Year 2 – we learned go after it warms up hahahaha … and again there is only one tool you truly need!

We shall see what next years lesson will be.

I love Becky and Randy, the owners of Sweet Surrender.. they are fabulous!

Sweet Surrender is such a peacful place … I just wish this year the weather had been nicer to us. It was cold, windy and raining this year, but that didn’t keep us from digging.

I didn’t find as much as last year but that was partly due to the weather as well. I did however, find some really nice crystals this year and can’t wait to start cleaning them up.

Below are a few pics of what I found digging around in the dirt for a day!
